Bhante Buddharakkhita Takes Two Novice Monks to Singapore to Receive High Ordination (Upasampada)

Venerable Bhante Buddharakkhita, the revered leader of the Uganda Buddhist Center, has led two novice monks to Singapore to receive higher ordination (upasampada). The Ordination is to take place on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the Burmese Buddhist Temple. This significant event promises to be a moment of deep reverence and spiritual transformation, as these individuals take this sacred step forward in their lives.

The two novices are Muhindo Brian and Ssekajja Andrew. Brian has been living at the Temple since 2021. He was ordained as a novice monk in 2022. Ssekajja has been living at the Temple since 2020, and he has been cleaning the temple, and the compound. He is also trained in Karate and Martial Arts, and one of his sons is one of the 19 novices at UBC.

Both Brian and Ssekajja have been keenly observed, and prepared to undertake the high ordination, symbolizing their profound spiritual commitment and dedication to the sacred path of Buddhism.

Guided by the profound wisdom and compassion (which is also inherent in the teachings of the Buddha) of Bante Buddharakkhita, we hope this ordination ceremony holds deep significance in the lives of these individuals. It represents their sincere devotion to the Buddhist faith and their quest for liberation.

May this sacred ordination in Singapore be an indelible experience, transforming the lives of Muhindo Brian and Ssekajja Andrew. As they progress on their spiritual path, may they attain greater enlightenment and spiritual fulfillment. Let us come together in celebration of the profound wisdom and boundless compassion that emanate from the teachings of the Buddha.

Namu Buddha.
