Gratitude to all Buddhists in Uganda

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the Sri Lankans and other Buddhists in Uganda for their enormous support during this rains retreat (Vassa) period. The community is providing all requisites for the monks during this period. They have also continued to visit the temple every weekend and performing religious rites that have informed the local community of the Buddhist practices.

The family of Mr. Perera has donated a water point near the Bodhi tree which will provide access to water during the religious ceremonies at the Bodhi Tree shrine.

The community led by Mr. Kamal and   Gihan De Silva have also enhancing the Buddha shrine at the Bodhi tree beautifully designed to provide walkaways for processions during the chanting and the Bodhi Puja.

The Kathina ceremony is planned to take place on November 15, 2020 and the main celebrant is Mr. Gihan De Silva and his family.
